Hi! My name is Caroline and I was born and raised in the suburbs of Miami, FL, but I like to think that most of my time was spent on the ocean: out on the islands off Key Biscayne, or at our family home in the Florida Keys. Most summers were spent traveling: road trips around the US, or to other countries liked China, Japan, Argentina, Italy, and more recently, Israel, among others.
I knew from a young age that I wanted to go into the medical field (in first grade I wanted to be a pediatrician and by seventh grade I wanted to be a heart surgeon), but I was always artistically inclined, so I ended up following that route through middle and high school by attending magnet art schools. I attended Design and Architecture Senior High, a premier magnet art high school located in the Design District of Downtown Miami, where I focused on Entertainment Technology (film). And although I loved the creativity that attending these schools provided me, I just didn’t have the passion that I knew I needed to be successful in these highly competitive fields.
So, when university application season rolled around, I applied to STEM programs at three universities, and was accepted into two of them. I graduated in May of 2018 from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Child Development, with intent on attending graduate school at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences that fall to begin work on a master’s in occupational therapy. My original goal was to become a pediatric occupational therapist, but after my coursework and volunteering during school I found that I am passionate about serving so many different populations.

Another interesting aspect of my life is my faith. God has brought me on quite a journey these past 22 years, and I hope that by starting this blog I can attempt to put into words some of the lessons that He has taught me, and thus start to make connections.
This blog will also serve as a way to document my travels, my adventures through and beyond graduate school, and will hopefully give me an outlet creative enough to satiate my need to express myself without taking up too much study time, I’m already dreading boards.
Thank you for joining me on my journey!
